YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team will travel to a pair of venues this weekend to take part in both the Toledo Collegiate Challenge and the North Florida Invitational, while the Green and White's men's team will travel to just the Toledo Collegiate Challenge this weekend.

The Eagles women's team will take part in its first events since the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind. which was held March 2-3. ReJeana Margina and Shantavia Williams were the only pair of runners from EMU to travel to the Alex Wilson and each placed fourth in their respective events.

"We are excited to begin the outdoor season. We have been able to take advantage of the outstanding weather and we feel prepared to start the season with some strong performances," said the women's Head Coach Sue Parks. "The group that is competing in North Florida will get the chance to compete on the track where regionals will be held later this year and the group at Toledo will face some strong competition from some MAC schools."

The EMU men's team has not competed since taking fourth at the MAC Indoor Championships March 25. Junior, Terefe Ejigu took first in a pair of events back at the championships and was also named the Most Valuable Performer.

"With anticipation of the nice weather we have been experiencing, continuing it will be a nice way to get the outdoor season started," remarked the men's Head Coach John Goodridge. "With a few different events than indoors we are interested in seeing how our young guys do."

Events in for the Toledo Collegiate Challenge will be held Saturday only, March 31, while the North Florida Invitational will be held on both Friday and Saturday, March 30-31.
