Four Indies, Two Relays to Compete for SHU Women's Track & Field at NAIA Indoors

GENEVA, Ohio -- Phoenix Duncan (Morenci, Mich./Morenci) and Lenzey Stidham (Midland, Mich./H.H. Dow) are the No. 2 seeds in their respective events as they lead the Siena Heights women's track and field team into the NAIA Indoor Championships, which are set to take place Mar. 1-3 at the SPIRE Institute.

Duncan is ranked second in the high jump with a top height of 1.73 meters while Stidham is second in the pole vault with clearance of 3.80 meters. Both student-athletes won WHAC individual championships.

Nichole Cavins (Monroe, Mich./Jefferson) and Chara Sykes (Hanover, Mich./Hanover-Horton) have also qualified on the individual side for SHU while two relay teams -- the 4x400-meter squad and the 4x800 group -- will compete at Nationals.

Sykes is seeded 18th in the high jump (1.62m) and Cavins is 28th in the weight throw (15.26m).

The 4x400 squad consists of Arika Knannlein (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic), Carrie Zubke (Adrian, Mich./Madison),Roshelle Woods (Canton, Mich./Wayne Memorial) and Morgan Choszczyk (Webberville, Mich./Webberville). It is seeded ninth with a time of 4:01.63.

The 4x800 team, which won the WHAC title, includes Zubke, Lyndsay Payne (Perry, Mich./Perry), Jessica Saunders(Flint, Mich./Carman Ainsworth) and Harmony Mead (Quincy, Mich./Quincy). That relay foursome is seeded seventh (9:39.88).
