EMU - Men's Track Captures Top-Spots at Findlay Open

FINDLAY, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Members of the Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team competed in the Findlay Open Friday, Feb. 3, at Findlay University. The Eagles had great success taking top-ranks in a number of different categories.
Pedro Delgado led things off for EMU by taking the top-spot in the 60-meter dash after a 7.09 finish and later took fourth in the 200-meter dash with a 23.37 performance. Fontaine Holland finished second in the 200-meter after completing the distance in 23.16. Holland also raced in the 400-meter dash, placing second when he crossed the finish line in 51.31.
In the 600-meter run, Nick Twining and Jordan Walker finished 1-2 for the Eagles, capturing times of 1:25.96 and 1:27.92, respectively. David Papenhagen topped the field in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.89 finish after claiming the first in the preliminary round.
In the field events, Dylan Stites took first in the pole vault when he leapt 14-feet and 5.25-inches for the top-spot. Branden Diplock took fifth in the pole vault with a 12-foot and 5.50-inch jump. Robert Tarpley was able to win the long jump for the Eagles. He jumped 21-feet and 5.25-inches to first place, while Papenhagen's 19-foot and 5.50-inch bound was good for third.

Anthony Bradley took first with a 44-foot and 4.75-inch jump, while Arron Davis leapt 41-feet and 1.75-inches for a runner-up finish. Keith Williams took fifth in the shot put with a 48-foot and 10.75-inch toss, while Teron Turner's 56-foot and 9.50-inch heave was good for fifth in the weight throw.
The Eagles' men's team continues their 2012 indoor campaign with their second day of the Meyo Invitational today, Saturday, Feb. 4.
