EMU Men Wrap Up Action at EMU Fall Classic

DEXTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team wrapped up action at the EMU Fall Classic today, Oct. 21 at the Hudson Mills Metro Park in Dexter, Mich.
While the Eagles' top runners did not participate in today's event, the Green and White placed three in the top-10 this afternoon in a field of 72 participants.
Alum Curtis Vollmar was the highest placing EMU representative on the day, taking third on the afternoon in 19:05.88.
Warren Witchell was the top performer for the Eagles with his sixth place, 15:30.33 performance.
Teammates James Hughes and Harry Dixon rounded out the top-10, placing ninth (15:34.14) and 10th (15:34.91), respectively.
Matt Wines raced to a 15:45.95, 20th place finish on the 5,000-meter course, while Cody Chabola cruised to a 28th place, 16:11.09 finish.
Nate Lonsway closed out the top-30, completing the distance in 16:14.48, while Moe Frisch and Josh George placed 48th and 52nd, respectively.
The Green and White will return to action when they head to Muncie, Ind. for the highly anticipated 2011 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
