BOWLING GREEN, OHIO -- The University of Michigan women's cross
country team won its second straight meet of the 1998 season on Saturday
(Sept. 12) at Bowling Green State University. The Wolverines topped Ohio
and BGSU with 25 points and four of the top six finishers. Senior
All-American Katie McGregor (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South
HS) won her second individual title of the young season with a 17:22
clocking, followed by junior All-American Elizabeth Kampfe
(Decatur, Ill./MacArthur HS) in second place (17:39). The pair
produced their second 1-2 finish of the season after doing likewise at the
Indiana State Sycamore Classic on Sept. 5.
Also scoring for the Wolverines was redshirt freshman Katy
Radkewich (Hudson, Ohio/Beaumont HS, Providence U.), who
finished fifth (18:13). All-American Michelle Slater (Rochester
Hills, Mich./Adams HS) was sixth, two seconds behind Radkewich.
