Wolverine seniors Todd Snyder (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS) and John Mortimer (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry HS) both earned All-America honors for the second straight year, finishing 10th and 31st, respectively. Michigan's No. 2 runner through most of the season, Snyder took over to the lead the Wolverines at the regional and NCAA Championship. He moved up 11 spots at the NCAA Championship his senior year after finishing 21st last season.
Earning his third cross country All-America citation, Mortimer has been questionable for the past few weeks, battling multiple injuries. He missed the regional championship (Nov. 14) in order to help the team out at nationals and it certainly paid off. Mortimer will undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee prior to the indoor track and field season.
"This was a tremendous team effort," Warhurst claimed after the meet. "We overcame adversity with injuries to our top runner, and the group responded in great fashion. Todd (Snyder) and John (Mortimer) were about 120th at the one-mile mark, and once they started moving, no one passed them.
