McGregor Provisionally Qualifies in 1500-Meter Run at Paddock Invitational

Ann Arbor, MI -- Having already automatically qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 5000-meter run and provisionally qualified in the 3000-meter run, Katie McGregor (Willoughby, OH/Willoughby South HS) added to her impressive resume with a provisional qualifying time in the 1500-meter run after she finished second with a time of 4:18.35 at the Len Paddock Invitational.

That time puts McGregor at the top of the Big Ten performance list in the 1500-meter run and places her number sixth nationally. Senior Michelle Slater (Rochester Hill, MI/Adams HS) gave the Wolverines a strong duo in the 1500-meter run as she finished behind McGregor in third with a pace of 4:29.92. In addition, senior Tania Longe (Sellebakk, Norway/St. Olav) continues to show her versatility as she finished second in the javelin with a throw of 126-11.

Notes:

-- McGregor is among the top 20 in the nation in each the 1500, 3000 and 5000-meter runs.

-- McGregor is at the top of the Big Ten performance list in the 5000-meter run as well as the 1500-meter run.

-- Allison Noe (Plano, TX/Harrison HS) ran her best 3000-meters of 1998 while finishing fourth with a time of 10:11.59.
