Walnut, California - The Canadian recorder holder for 3,000 Meter Steeple Chase, Ann Arbor's
Karen Harvey continues her running success in 1999, by winning the Mt. SAC Relays Steeple Chase for the second year in a row. Karen's time of 10:19.7 outdistanced second place by over 25 seconds. Harvey was "disappointed with the time, but happy with the win." The University of Michigan Alumni and All-American Harvey, said "my hurdling techinque was excellent but my water pit jumping was terrible, and proably cost me at least 5 to 7 seconds." Karen is shooting to run under 10:10 this summer. Her next's big Steeple Chase will be in the first ever women's steeple championship at the Canadian Championships, Winnipeq (late June). |
