"Crim Festival of Races Board Names New Race Director"
Flint, MI - The Crim Festival of Races is pleased to welcome Sherlynn Everly as Crim executive director. Ms. Everly comes to the Crim with many years of experience in event planning, most recently she worked as executive director of the Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, Michigan. Under her leadership the festival attracted 233,000 patrons in 15 days and generated record income.

"I am really excited and honored to be a part of an organization that promotes the Flint community through the Crim Festival of Races in August and by supporting youth and adult walking and running clubs all year long, " stated Everly.

Everly obtained a Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University and is in the process of completing a Masters in Public Administration from Oakland University. Ms. Everly is very well acquainted with volunteerism and is currently the President of the Holly Area Chamber of Commerce.

"We are pleased to have Sherlynn on board, she is an experienced event planner with strong community focus. I know she will be a great leader for our organization," said Joe Baessler, Crim Board President.

Everly replaces Anne Gault, who resigned the post after 5 years in order to devote more time to Gault Race Management, the race scoring business she and her husband run.

The Crim will hold a press conference on Friday, April 23, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in the Flint Commerce Center located on the first floor of the Mott Foundation Building to officially introduce Ms. Everly to the Flint community as well as to unveil the 1999 Crim artwork, make a special donation to Michigan Special Olympics area XIII, introduce new race sponsors and announce other exciting changes.
