Anne Gault to Leave Crim as Executive Director
Flint, MI
Brian Barkey, president of the Crim Festival of Races Board of directors, today announced that Anne Gault has decided to resign her position as Crim Executive Director, effective with the appointment of a new executive director. Gault is leaving the Crim to devote more time to the race scoring business she manages with her husband. "This was a very difficult decision for me," says Gault. "I love the Crim, its staff, board, volunteers and participants. It's an important part of our community and I've been so proud to be a part of its success. However, growth opportunities for my own business have recently presented themselves and I want to take advantage of them. I hope to remain with the Crim as the scoring/timing company, and will always be involved in some way as a volunteer. The Crim is so much a part of me; I could never completely leave."
Barkey notes "Anne has led the Crim well in her three years as Executive Director and it won't be easy to replace her. We're sorry to lose her, but we're pleased that she has agreed to stay on with the Crim as executive director until a new executive is hired. She will also be available to assist the new director throughout the year, so we expect this to be a smooth transition. The Crim board looks forward to beginning our search for a new executive immediately."
Gault, who has been with the Crim since 1994, became acting executive director in the spring of 1996 and was named executive director that fall. She and her husband, John, own and operate Gault Race Management, a computerized race scoring company.
