RUNNING ENCYCLOPEDIA, THE ULTIMATE SOURCE FOR TODAY'S RUNNER
Congratulations are in order for Richard Benyo and Joe Henderson for
writing what is soon to become a must have book for everybody who is into
running, "Running Encylopedia:The UltimateSource for Today's Runner", by
Human Kinetics Press. The book is captures the past, including the
exitement of the running explosion in the late 70's and early 80's.
The book keeps to the topic of road racing, and these two gentlemen who
have both been editors of Runners World and have 40 books between them,
certainly know the sport. 'I fouund myself pouring through the pages
seeing if they had left out something that had been important to the
people in Michigan. I did not have to look far as the Acknowledgement
page paid tribute to both Scott Hubbard and Dr. Edward Kozloff.
Again, Joe and Richard, thanks for the memories.

CINCINNATI FLYING PIG MARATHON UPS RELAY NUMBERS
When runners talk, the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon listens. The
Outback Steakhouse 2-Person Relay was unveiled in January 2002 and was
full by the first part of February. Race officials increased the number
of accepted teams after a steady influx of registrations and inquiries
about the event continued to filter in after it sold out. "We expected
the Outback Steakhouse 2-Person Relay to be a popular event," commented
Rich Williams, race director. "But, the overwhelming interest in the
event led us to sit down and figure out logistically how we could take on
more teams to meet the runner's needs. This Marathon is all about the
runner so we felt it important to research every angle to see how we could
accommodate the demand. It's great we could do it!" Most events are
nearing entry limits, therefore interested participants are encouraged to
submit registrations as soon as possible. There are open spots remaining
in the following events:
