FREEZE YOUR FANNY, BAY CITY
Last week we featured the Traverse City Track Club's Frozen Foot Race and the 14 degrees at race time proved the race is aptly named. This week we'll keep an eye on the temperature in Bay City, where the Bay Area Runners Club names its race after a different part of the anatomy. The annual Freeze Your Fanny.5K begins at 10 at the Bay City Community Center. Freeze Your Fanny, like other events in the Winter Race Series, features low entry fees and optional special design stocking caps. Call 989.893.1093 for more information.

TIM BROE'S 7:49 IS THE BEST INDOOR 3K THIS YEAR
Tim Broe's decision to train with the University of Michigan track and cross country team, is proving to be a good one. Broe's 7:49 in the 3000 meter race at the University of Michigan Red Simmons Invitational on Saturday is the best indoor 3K this year and is a new U-M Indoor Track Building record. Broe held off a stellar field including Kevin Sullivan, Nate Brannen, Mike Wisnewskie and Kyle Baker.

TWO INTERVIEWS WITH RITZ
Dathan Ritzenhein is training with an eye on the USATF Cross Country 12K Championship in Vancouver, Washington, February 9-10. The Illinois Runner Web site (http://www.illinoisrunner.com) is proud to feature an interview with Ritz; and Kids Running (http://www.kidsrunning.com/columns/krcolumnstheyrandathan.html) interview's the University of Colorado freshman on winter running.

GREEN BAY MARATHON TO FEATURE JEFF GALLOWAY
