Detroit, MI - Over 28,000 people turned out in downtown Detroit today to help fight cancer. The 10th Annual Race for the Cure was a huge success again this year. The 5K Run and Walk was held for the first time in downtown Detroit moving from it's previous location at the Detroit Zoo.

Grand Rapids, MI - On the west side of the state Pietro's hosted the Eat Pasta Run Fasta 5K and again turned out the most competive Road 5K in Michigan. Isaac Kariuki won the fast paced men's race in 14:17, followed by Rochester's Chad Johnson in 14:20. The men's race saw 12 men go under 15 minutes including Men's Master winner Andrew Masai (14:45). Betsy Frens won the women's race in 17:04, followed by Janet Becker in 17:43.
