RITZ TAKES BRONZE

OSTEND, BELGIUM - Rockford's Dathan Ritzenhein became the only American to stand on the podium at this years World Cross Country Championships as he placed third in a time of 25:46. Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele took the individual title in 25:04. Ritzenhein and fellow American Matt Tegenkamp, who placed 5th, helped the American team to a 4th place finish.��In the women's junior race Northwestern University Freshman Emily Blakeslee (Rockford, MI) placed 74th. While in the men's short course Ann Arbor's Kevin Sullivan placed 29th.
