University of Michigan's Katie Jazwinski captured the mile February 17th at the Harold Silverston Invitational. Katie's 4:47.59 time was good for a NCAA provisional mark. On the men's side Michigan's Charles DeWildt won the pole vault with a height of 17-5, which was also a NCAA provisional mark.
On Saturday February 17th at the Winter USATF Cross Country Championships Northwestern University Freshmen Emily Blakeslee (Rockford, MI) placed 5th in 21:55 on the 6K course. Emily's 5th place finish earns her a spot on the Junior USA World Team that will compete at the Cross Country World Championships.
Rockford's Dathan Ritzenhein finished second in the Junior Mens 8K at the Winter USATF Cross Country Championships on Sunday February 18th. Dathan's finish earned him a spot on the Junior USA World Team that will compete March 24-25 at the Cross Country World Championships in Dublin, Ireland.
In the Senior Mens 12K Todd Williams finished 9th and Hanson's Chad Johnson was 11th at the Winter USATF Cross Country Championships February 18th. In the Senior Women's 4K Katie McGregor finished 15th, while in the Men's Senior 4K Kyle Baker was 7th.
In Marathon News, Running Fit's Paul Aufdemberge placed 13th overall in 2:20:55 and Jeff Martin was 27th (3rd Master) in the Motorola Austin Marathon.
