Clint Verran continued where he left off in 2000 by winning both the mile and 3000 meters at the Red Simmons Invitational, January 20th, 2001 in Ann Arbor. Clint ran 4:06.60 for the mile and followed it with a 8:02.54. Clint's 8:02 3000 meter automatically qualifies him for the US Indoor Nationals in March.

In High School news Alan Webb breaks 4 minutes for the mile. Webb ran 3:59.86 at the New Balances Games in New York, Saturday January 20th, 2001. Webb is the first High School runner since 1967 (Marty Liquori) to run a sub 4 minute mile. Dathan Ritzenhein is also on track for another successful year by running 4:09 for the mile in Mt. Pleasant on January 15th.

At the Frozen Foot 5 miler in Traverse City Mark Coogan breezed to an easy win in 24:53.
