For the second year in a row Ann Arbor Couple
will be running in World Cross Country Championships

March 12, 2000


Ann Arbor - The 28th edition of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships are being held March 18-19, 2000 in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal and two of Michigan's own will be there. Ann Arbor's Karen Harvey-Sullivan and Kevin Sullivan will be representing Canada in Women's and Men's 4K Championships.

The couple left March 2nd and will first compete for Canada in the Five Nations Meet, consisting of France, Britain, Italy, Russia, Canada and an All-Star Team. Where they both will race the 1500m on March 5th. From March 6th onwards they will be in Portugal at a training camp preparing for the World Cross-Country Championships. Kevin will race in 4km Championships on March 18, while Karen will race in the women's 4Km championship on March 19th.

Karen Harvey-Sullivan is a University of Michigan Alumni and All-American. Karen is currently running for Adidas and won the University of Michigan Silverston Invitational 800 meter on February 19th in a time of 2:08.40.

Kevin Sullivan also a University of Michigan Alumni is the Canadian Record holder in the indoor mile. Kevin was a 10 time Track All-American and 4-time Big Ten Cross Country Champion while running track and cross country for the University of Michigan.
