Free Press/Flagstar Bank Detroit, MI - Only one week to race day! Please plan on joining us at the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Int'l Marathon Health and Fitness Expo. We will be in the Ontario Room of the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel once again this year. The dates are Friday, October 13, from 2 PM to 8 PM, and from Saturday, October 14, from 9 AM to 7 PM. Note the earlier opening time on Saturday... a change from what we originally published on our applications. Admission is absolutely free, and its open to your friends, family and the general public. We'll have 43 exhibitors occupying 62 booths offering loads of discounts, services and free samples. This year, you can make your dinner reservations right from the Expo... drop by the Detroit or Windsor Convention and Visitors Bureau booths at the front of the hall to take advantage of this service. Also, get that last minute stretch and relaxing massage from our massage therapists right outside the entrance. Plan to attend our Runner's Clinic on Saturday afternoon. The clinic is also located in the Ontario Room, and starts at 1 PM. We're excited about our speakers, which include- 1:00 PM Dr. Jeff Martin Professor of Excercise and Sports Psychology at Wayne State, and former member of the Canadian National Team "Pyschology of Distance Running and Racing, or How to See the Positive in a Negative Split!" 2:00 PM Sheila Taormina Livonia's own 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming, and 6th place finisher in the first ever Women's Triathlon in the 2000 Sydney Games last month "More than Gold" 3:00 PM Don Kardong Senior Writer, "Runner's World" magazine.
