Join us for the 12th Annual Outrun Hunger Charity Event!
Outrun Hunger is a 5K and 1 Mile event for charity partnering with two food pantries, Hospitality House of Commerce and Open Door Outreach Center of Waterford, to help feed Lakes Region families during the holiday season.
In 2011, we launched Outrun Hunger (a 5k race for charity) to raise money to feed 100 families during the holiday season. To date, Outrun Hunger has raised a total of $176,859, feeding 8,851 families. Best of all, 100% of the race registrations/donations (excluding online transaction fees) is donated to our partnering food pantries.
2021 marked our eleventh annual charity race with the support from our community, and our expectations were exceeded yet another year. In addition, a number of local area business have donated their time, products and/or services for the event.
Exciting results, but our job isn't done. According to our partner organizations, they served 432 families and 865 individuals in November and December of 2021. In addition, the cost increased from $20 to feed a family of four, to $30. The "demand" often overwhelms the “supply."
