CU - Better weather brings strong results for T&F at Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Track & Field teams traveled to Ball State on Friday where warm weather awaited them for the first time in their outdoor season. The results were strong for the Golden Eagles with multiple personal records and top program finishes. Cornerstone will resume action next weekend in the annual Al Owens Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State.



Women's Highlights



- Jaxsen Meldrum - PR in the 400m hurdles (1:14.12)


- Madison Secord - Steeplechase - debuts at 8th overall in program history (12:29.33)


- Shaina DenBesten - PR in the Long Jump 5.40m (17-8.75) and the 200m ( 27.13)


- Morgan Luedy - PR in the High Jump 1.56m (5-1.25)


- Hannah Drake - 1st place in Triple Jump - 11.52m (37-9.5)



Men's Highlights



- Saiko Jawo-Smalla - PR in 100m (11.03) and 200m (22.51)


- Judah Bruce - PR in the Javelin (47.49m) (155-10)


- Joey DeBoer - PR in 1,500m (3"57.67) - now 5th on all-time CU list


- Owen Woltjer - 9:57.97 in Steeplechase


- David Dwumfour-Poku - PR in the 200m (22.26) - now 7th on all-time CU list




What's Next?


Cornerstone will resume action next weekend here in Grand Rapids as they will be at the GVSU Al Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday.
