CU - Women’s Track & Field finishes fourth at WHAC Indoor Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's track & field team concluded its final meet before nationals with a fourth place finish at the 2018 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. CU saw one school record, multiple personal records and multiple national qualifiers.



Highlights


Gabriela Wittenbach – Got the day started with a new school record in the weight throw – 16.89m



Shot Put – Personal Records for both Hannah Edmonds (12.26m – 5th) and Gabby Wittenbach (12.15 – 6th)



4x800 Relay – Katya Bohatch, Madison Secord, Ally Rabe and Amanda Sorokin – 3rd – 10:13.15



High Jump – Anna Bekius ties her Personal Record – 8th place



Pole Vault – New Personal Record for Cassie Jager – 6th place (3.12m)



400m – Morgan Luedy hit a national qualifying standard with time of 59.00, Makayla Clum – 2nd (58.95)



1,000 – Valerie Richter – Personal Record



4x400 Relay – Team of Katelyn Koetsier, Mara VanOrder, Morgan Luedy and Makayla Clum – 4:00.95 – second overall and auto standard for nationals



5,000 – Kelli Smith finishes runner-up (18:56.86)



800 – Ally Rabe – 2nd – 2:23.27



3,000 – Sierra Albus – 4th (10:45.90), Val Richter – 5th (10:55.04)



Triple Jump – Hannah Drake – 2nd – 11.38m



600 – Amanda Sorokin – 3rd – 1:41.45



Mile – Sierra Albus (3rd – 5:17.53), Val Richter (5th – 5:39.60)





Cornerstone will resume action in two weeks at the 2018 NAIA Indoor National Championships.
