NMU - More NCAA II Provisionals for the Wildcats in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Northern Michigan University Women's Track & Field finished up their regular season by sending select student-athletes to the UW-Oshkosh Titan Challenge looking to improve their season marks. The Wildcats did exactly that posting three NCAA Division II provisional marks on Saturday afternoon.
A pair of NMU runners earned NCAA II provisional times in the 800-meter run with NMU sweeping the top-three spots. Junior Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Michigan) took the top-spot with a provisional time of two minutes, 13.17 seconds. The time ranks second all-time at NMU and currently sits at 15th-quickest in the country.
Freshman Holly Blowers (Marquette, Michigan) also earned a provisional by finishing second in 2:15.04. It is the first career provisional for Blowers who now owns the third-fastest 800-meter time in school history. Senior Kieren Becker (Fowler, Michigan) made it a sweep of the top-three with a time of 2:16.04.
The final NMU provisional of the weekend went to junior Michelle Juergen (Gau-Odernheim, Germany) who won the high jump. Juergen cleared five feet, six inches to take the top-spot at the event. The mark is currently ranked 21st in the NCAA II this season.
Competing in a pair of events, senior Samanthia Johnson (Kingston, Jamaica) represented the Wildcats in a pair of throwing events. Johnson was third in the weight throw with a top toss of 52'02.50". She also competed in the shot put, finishing 17th.
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships will be held February 23-24 with Grand Valley State University hosting the meet. The 2017 NCAA II Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for March 9-10 in Pittsburgh, Kansas.
