CU - DeBoer and Wittenbach hit national marks at GRSHOF Classic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The fourth annual Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Track & Field Classic was hosted by Aquinas College on Friday night and Cornerstone had another strong showing with numerous personal records, individual wins and national qualifying marks. CU will be back in action next weekend at the GVSU BIG Meet in Allendale.



Women's Highlights


Weight Throw – Gabriela Wittenbach hit an NAIA Provisional mark with a throw of 52'11.75" and won event



Shot Put – Wittenbach made it two for two with event wins with a victory – 39'8"



Morgan Luedy – 4th in the 200m (26.74) and 5th in the 60m (8.10)



Event Winners – Wittenbach twice, Amanda Sorokin – 1,000 (1:40.59) and Hannah Drake – TJ (36'11")



1,000m – Valerie Richter with a PR of 3:11.21



Meredith Haddad – 4th in Long Jump – 17'5.25"



Sierra Albus – 2nd in Mile (5:15.38) and 2nd in 800m (PR time of 2:23.87)

Men's Highlights



Judah Bruce – led team in scoring with 11.25 points – 4th in HJ (5'9.75), 7th in SP (42'1.5"), 8th in WT (46'2.5") and 4th in 4x400 relay



David Dwumfour-Poku – 2nd in 60m – 7.06



Saiko Jawo-Smalla – 4th in 60m (7.21) and 4th in 200m (23.12)



Kevin Vroegh – 2nd in 800m – 1:58.65



Joey DeBoer – wins the 5k with Automatic standard – 15:06.56



Zach Feldpausch – 4th in 5k – 15:39.51

Cornerstone will stay in Grand Rapids for next weekend's Grand Valley State BIG Meet. Action starts Friday and will continue on through Saturday evening.
