Grand Valley State Women Finish Sixth at NCAA Championships

Evansville, Ind. – The Grand Valley State women's cross country team finished sixth at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Evansville, Indiana with a team score of 185 Saturday morning. The Lakers came in as the defending National Champions.



Senior Kelly Haubert was the first to cross the finish line with a sixth place finish at 21:05.1. Allie Ludge placed 35th with a time of 21:40.0, followed by a 39th place finish by Gina Patterson, who crossed the finish line at 21:42.9. Megan Caltagirone tabbed a 48th place finish with a time of 21:52.0, while Rachel Bendewald was the fifth scoring runner for the Lakers and finished the race 82nd with a time of 22:19.0.



Also running for GVSU were Stacey Metzger (22:20.8) and Madison Goen (23:02.7)



Haubert, Ludge and Patterson all tabbed All-American honors after placing in the top 40 in the championship race.



Adams State finished first with 126 points, followed by U-Mary (137 points), Cal Baptist (148 points), Chico State (179 points), Alaska Anchorage (180 points) and Grand Valley State (185 points).
