DETROIT (10/28/17) -- Senior Sydnie Fetherolf ran her way back to All-Horizon League Second Team honors as the University of Detroit Mercy women's cross country team competed in the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.

The 6k race – the first 6k event of the season for the red, white and blue – was held at the Katke Cousins Golf Course in Rochester, Michigan on the campus of Metro Series rival Oakland University.

As a team, Detroit Mercy placed ninth with 237 points.

"Sydnie did a great job battling for All-League honors," said Director of Track and Field and Cross Country '89 Guy Murray. "She joins a select group who hacve more than one All-League honors." Fetherolf placed ninth overall with a time of 22:56. It was the second time in her career that she captured All-HL honors as she claimed 10th as a freshman.

The run also extended the Titan streak to six-straight years with a harrier in the top 10.

"We did our best on a tough course today," said Murray. "It was tough not being at full strength against the improved league."
