"This morning was a tougher race with conditions hot and humid but overall I thought Courtney Allen, Claire Gilbert, Mattie Goodwin, Brittney Hall, and Autumn Lewis did a really nice job today," commented WMU head coach Kelly Lycan. "It was another good opportunity for our underclassman to be in a big meet, it also was a big learning experience for them."

Gilbert finished in 22nd place overall with a 6K time of 22:30.6 finishing in fourth overall against Mid-American Conference runners. Sophomore Brittney Hall had another solid race finishing second for the Broncos and 84th overall crossing the finish line at 24:24.2. Freshman Courtney Allen finished right behind Hall in 93rd with a time of 24:34.7. Sophomore Mattie Goodwin finished 118th overall with a time of 25:06.5 and freshman Rebecca McNamee rounded out the Bronco top-5 finishing 121st overall with a 25:10.8 time.

Other finishers for the Broncos include sophomores Autumn Lewis (25:31.5) and Haley Ritsema (25:51.6) and freshman Charlotte Ramser (27:34.6).

Similar to years past at the Spartan Invitational, there were no team scores recorded.

The Broncos will take next weekend off before heading to the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29.
