Calvin Men's Cross Country Development Squad Takes Fourth at Hope Vanderbilt Invitational

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Calvin men's cross country development squad competed at the Hope College Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday and placed fourth with a team score of 94 points.



Freshman Noah Cummisford (Mequon, Wisc./Homestead HS) led the Knights with a third place finish in a time of 26:38. Sophomore Jason Klaasen (Jenison, Mich./Unity Christian HS) also cracked the top 10, placing eighth (27:16).



Freshman Charlie Kornoelje (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) was 25th (28:24), freshman Frederick McWain (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS) 28th (28:44) and sophomore Jim VanDyk (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) 30th (29:19).



Rounding out Calvin's finshers were sophomore Ryan Van Appeldorn (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) in 31st (29:52) and freshman Noah Keene (Detroit, Mich./Henry Ford Academy) 35th (40:53).



Saturday's 5K competition was held at the Ridge Point Community Church course. Davenport took first place with a team score of 41 points.



Thomas Vanslembrouck of Davenport took first place individually with a time of 26:31.
