Provided by Aquinas
Curtis Bell (JR/Coleman, Michigan) of Aquinas College was named WHAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, while Adri Sigafoose (JR/McBain, Michigan) was honored as the WHAC's Women's Track Athlete of the Week this afternoon.
Curtis Bell set a personal best in clearing 16-5.25 in the Pole Vault on Friday evening at Grand Valley State University. He was the top collegiate performer and is now only one inch off the Aquinas record. His vault, an automatic qualifier for nationals, has Bell ranked first in the WHAC and second in the NAIA, only one inch off the national lead.
Adri Sigafoose had a very productive afternoon for the Saints at Saturday's Mike Lints Open. She bettered her own school record in the 800 meters (2:09.75) and is leading the NAIA by over five seconds. Her time also would rank her #1 in NCAA Division II and #2 in NCAA Division III. Adri's performance also ranked her in the top 50 of collegiate runners in the United States for the 800 meters. Adri also ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 meter relay that hit the "A" qualifier for the Saints (3:59.33). Sigafoose has automatically qualified for Nationals in four events (600 meter, 800 meter, 4x400 meter relay, and 4x800 meter relay) so far this indoor season.
