CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - The Mid-American Conference announced today, Sept. 20, that Eastern Michigan University women's cross country junior Jordann McDermitt (Davison, Mich. - Davison) was named the MAC Runner of the Week for her performance at the Commodore Classic, Sept. 17.

McDermitt led the Eagles to one of their best invitational wins in program history this past weekend. As a team, the Eagles won the meet with 68 points, beating No. 19 Mississippi State and No. 26 Vanderbilt in the process.

On the individual side, McDermitt turned in a third-place finish, clocking in at 17:02.9 despite tough running conditions. Her time was also just three seconds behind the second-place finisher. The honor is the second for McDermitt this season, and throughout her career, along with the second for the squad.

McDermitt and the Eagles resume action in two weeks, heading to South Bend, Ind. for the Notre Dame Invitational, Sept. 30.
