For the second time in the last two national track championship meets, Caleb Gatchell ran, and finished, with the best in all of NCAA Division II.

Gatchell earned his second career All-American honor, and first in outdoor competition, at the 1500 meter run Saturday in Bradenton, Florida at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He took seventh place in the 1500 with a time of 3:50.9. He was able to earn a top-eight spot in an incredibly crowded field, which featured first place and seventh place separated by just 2.58 seconds.

Four other Charger men picked up All-American honors as part of the last race of the event, the 4x400 relay. The foursome of Noah Hiser, Lane White, Colby Clark and Ty Etchemendy placed seventh with a time of 3:11.04. It was the final race of Hiser's career, a man who started his Charger days on the football team but ended up picking up two All-American trophies as part of some very talented relay teams.

Barely missing an All-American time was Anthony Wondaal in the steeplechase Friday night. He took ninth with a time of 9:05.7.
