Eight From Hope Qualify For 2016 NCAA D-III Outdoor Track & Field Finals

Eight Hope College student-athletes have qualified for the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Five will represent the Flying Dutchmen: senior Dion Goliday of Muskegon, Michigan (Oakridge HS), senior Boone Marois of Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS), junior Matt Pelyhes of Augusta, Michigan (Gull Lake HS), junior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit HS) and freshman Justin Freeman of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS).
Three will represent the Flying Dutch: seniors Jane Pearson of Lake City, Michigan (Northern Michigan Christian HS) and Julia Stock of Norton Shores, Michigan (Grand Haven HS), and junior Erin Herrmann of Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS).
The three-day meet in Waverly, Iowa begins on Thursday, May 26. Wartburg College is the host school.

Herrmann is ranked fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after clocking a time of 10 minutes, 40.44 seconds.
Herrmann is contending to earn All-America honors in three sports this school year. She already has claimed the distinction in women's cross country with a 34th-place finish and indoor track & field with a 12th-place effort in the 3,000 meters.
Pearson is seeded 15th in the heptathlon with a score of 4,416 points.
Stock is ranked 17th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 36:02.54.

The Flying Dutchmen are seeded 11th in the 4x100 relay. Goliday, Freeman, Pelyhes and Freeman have a qualifying time of 41.33 seconds.
Salomon is ranked 20th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.12.
