LSSU - Dieck is ranked fifth nationally heading into NCAA Indoor Championships

NEW ORLEANS - Lake Superior State senior Justin Dieck is ranked fifth nationally in the shot put heading into next weekend's NCAA Indoor Nationals in Pittsburgh, Kan. He is LSSU's lone qualifier for the 2016 indoor nationals.
Dieck is the defending NCAA indoor champion in the event and has surpassed his record distance twice this season. He threw a school record 19.97 meters during last weekend's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, where he placed second.
Pittsburg State's Garrett Appier is ranked No. 1 at 19.55 meters, while GLIAC champion Coy Blair of Tiffin is second at 19.20 meters. Grand Valley State's Chris Salkalis is third at 18.26 meters, and Tiffin's Jay Feuerstein is fourth at 17.99 meters.
