The Farmington Hills, Michigan, native made her return to action following an injury sustained during the 2015 Big Ten Indoor Championships pentathlon competition. She competed in the high jump, finishing runner-up after clearing the bar at 1.64 meters (5-4.75 ft.) and also ran on the track.
Howell joined junior Sami Michell and freshman Lauren Rodriguez competing in the 100-meter hurdles, with Michell (runner-up) and Howell (third place) earning top finishes for the Maize and Blue.
