In the shot put, junior Eric Jipping (Canton/Plymouth Christian HS) took second with a season-best throw of 47-3 1/4 while freshman Brendan VanHouten (Comstock Park/Grand Rapids Christian HS) was second in the weight throw with a season best mark of 47-5.

"Our throwers had a great weekend with several season and personal bests," said Calvin head track and field coach Bret Otte. "Our distance runners had a great weekend at Grand Valley State and are poised for some great racing in the coming weeks. Our middle-distance runners also had a great weekend highlighted by the races of Caroline Boss and Jeff Meitler in the 800 meters."

As a team, Calvin finished fourth in the final standings at the Aquinas College Little Meet with 108 points.
