Cornerstone U - Curtis leads Men’s XC in preview of NAIA course

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Trevor Curtis (SO/Belding, Mich.) ran a new personal record at the course that will host the 2015 NAIA Cross Country championships later this fall and he helped the Golden Eagles to a 14th place finish on Friday afternoon. Cornerstone will return to the course in two weeks at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College.


With one month until the WHAC Cross Country Championships, the Golden Eagles went south to compete in the prestigious NAIA Preview meet hosted by Queens University in Charlotte. Sophomore Trevor Curtis had a strong showing as he posted a new PR with a time of 26:16.6.


Coming in second for CU was Tyler Steigenga (SR/Holland, Mich.) at 26:47.6 and he was followed by a pack of Golden Eagles in Zach Feldpausch (SO/Fowler, Mich.), Phil Merrell and Thomas Bambach (SR/Allendale, Mich.).


Cornerstone will return to action on October 24 at Gracewil Country Club for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
