Calvin Men's Cross Country Team Captures Lansing Invitational Title

LANSING - Calvin captured the championship of the Lansing Community College Invitational Friday afternoon, posting a first place team score of 46 points. Host Lansing Community College was second with a score of 102 points.



Senior Jonathan Gingrich (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty HS) won the race with a time of 25:54 on the 8K course. Junior Robbie Holhman (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley HS) was the next man up for the Knights, placing sixth in 26:23 while sophomore Andrew Rylaarsdam (Grandville/Calvin Christian HS) was right behind in seventh with a time of 26:27. Senior Landon Potts (Caledonia/South Christian HS) was 13th in 26:49 while freshman Nathanael Dick (Grand Rapids/Home Schooled) was 23rd in 27:09.



Rounding out Calvin's top seven were freshman Gabe Hawley (East Jordan/East Jordan HS) in 28th (27:18) and junior Nick Aukerman (Ann Arbor/Pioneeer HS) in 47th (27:53).



Calvin is back in action next weekend, competing at the Jayhawk Invitational on October 16 and the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on October 17.
