Provided by Hillsdale
Senior Joshua Mirth needs more room on his trophy shelf.
The highly accomplished distance runner added another All-American honor to his distinguished career Friday night, when he placed fourth in the 5000 meter run at the NCAA Division II championships, being held in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend.
Mirth finished the race in 14:29.27. He finished just .15 seconds out of third place in the race. Runners from the Midwest Region (GLIAC and GLVC) swept the top six spots in this race overall at the national championships.
Mirth adds another national honor to a resume that includes All-American recognition in cross country back in the fall.
Also Friday night, freshman Lane White qualified for Saturday's finals in the 400 meter run, finishing fourth in prelims with a time of 47.72 seconds.
