Hillsdale College - Charger Men Prep for GLIACs at Final Home Indoor Meet

The Hillsdale College Men's Track team continued their indoor season at home, posting top finishes in the Hillsdale Tune-Up.



In the 200 meter dash, junior Alexander Mexicotte crossed the tape first and met an NCAA provisional mark with his time of 22.25. Freshman David Chase finished sixth in the same event with a time of 22.92.



Two freshmen met NCAA provisional marks in the 400 meter dash as well as clenched the top two places. Lane White took first with a time of 49.29 and Colby Clark took second with a time of 49.51. Junior Noah Hiser took sixth in the same event with a time of 52.42.



Sophomore Caleb Gatchell met an NCAA provisional mark in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.23. Sophomore Andrew Beaird took fourth in the event with at time of 1:57.00 and freshman Nathan Jones finished sixth with a time of 1:59.06.



In the mile run, junior Kevin Frost finished first with a time of 4:28.6 and freshman Sam Phillips finished second with a time of 4:30.49. Freshman Anthony Wondaal finished fifth with a time of 4:35.64.



In the 3000 meter, freshman Evan Carter ran a time of 9:01.05 and took fourth place, while senior John Wierenga took fifth with a time of 9:10.41. Wondaal finished eighth in the same event with a time of 9:24.68.



Senior Justin Fawley finished first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.59 and freshman Evan Tandy finished right behind for second place with a time of 8.60.



Freshman David Chase took first place in the high jump with a leap of 2.02 meters.



In the pole vault, freshman Jared Schipper finished second with an NCAA provisional mark-reaching 5.02 meters. Fawley finished third in the same event with a vault of 4.47 meters.



Sophomore Ty Etchemendy finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.96 meters. Junior Cassidy Kaufman took fourth with a leap of 12.64 meters.



Junior Tim Broxterman took fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 12.47 meters.



The Chargers will continue their season Feb. 28 in Saginaw for the GLIAC Championships.
