MSU - Nick Moon Named Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men’s cross country runner Nick Moon was recognized as the Big Ten Conference men’s cross country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. He is receiving the award for the first time as a Spartan and is the first MSU men’s runner to receive the honor since Andrew Cusmano in 2013.
Moon won the Central Michigan Jeff Drenth Memorial last Friday (Aug. 29) in the Spartan’s season-opening meet for the 2014 campaign. He recorded a personal-best 5K time of 15:06.70 to lead five Spartans who finished in the top-10 of the race.
Michigan State will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 5, at the University of Oregon Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Oregon. The 5K event is scheduled to get underway at 8:45 p.m. ET.
