HILLSDALE, Mich. - Andrew Bowman and Miranda Haas both earned personal-best times in the steeplechase as Oakland completed its second day in the 48th Annual Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale College. Bowman ran a 9:26.30, good for eighth overall while Haas clocked in at 11:14.01 in 13th place overall. The results were accomplished despite fluctuating weather conditions all day.

"As usual, the weather played quite a factor today," commented head coach, Paul Rice. "We saw rain, wind, cold, and then ended up with great conditions late in the day. Serena San Cartier's high hurdles performance was impressive being her first of the season. The steeplers were fun to watch with Andy and Miranda both running PRs. Tomorrow's forecast looks much better so hopefully we will see some nice performances from everyone we have competing."

San Cartier's time in the 100-meter hurdles was 14.27 which was a first-place finish while her 400m hurdle time was 1:03.61 - .02 seconds faster than her season-best - good for a third-place finish. For the men, Buddy Becker set a new bar for the season in the shot put by throwing a distance of 44 feet, 8.25 inches, finishing in 12th place and Jordan King improved his season-best 400m dash by .17 seconds to 52.33, finishing 23rd overall.

The third and final day of the Gina Relays begins Saturday at 10 a.m.
