OAKLAND'S JOINER WINS LEAGUE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARD

INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland freshman Meagan Joiner has been named Horizon League Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-20. After a full day of competition at the Jack Skoog Open in Mount Pleasant, Mich. on Jan. 17, Joiner posted impressive finishes to lead her to this award.



Joiner participated in four events, finishing with quality results in three of them, including a victory among competing Division I teams in the 600m with a time of 1:49.88. In field events, Joiner's marks of 15' 8.5" in the long jump and 32' 4.5" in the triple jump were good for second-place finishes. In total, she accounted for 11 of Oakland's 45 points.



Oakland next competes at ex-league foe, IPFW for the IPFW Quad Meet on Saturday, Jan. 25.
