MADISON, Wis. -- The Western Michigan cross country season came to an end on Friday afternoon after the Broncos finished 21st overall at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship at the University of Wisconsin.
Aisha Hodge finished her cross country career as WMU's top runner on the day finishing in 97th place with a time of 22:24. The top five group as a whole kept a tight pack, special the second through fifth positions with just a 28 second gap.
"We were hoping to be in the top 20 and we were close but it was a significant improvement over last year," said head coach Kelly Lycan. "I was still a little disappointed overall though because I thought we should have finished a little higher."
Junior Becca Peacock was the second finisher for the Broncos taking 121st overall with a time of 22:51 with fellow junior Ann Maire Arseneau just five seconds behind her at 22:56 for WMU's third finishing spot.
