AMHERST, N.Y. - Junior Krista Parks earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors as the Central Michigan women’s cross country team finished fourth of 12 at the MAC Championships Saturday morning.
Parks finished sixth in 21:52.1 to lead the Chippewas, who scored 124 points. She earned All-MAC honors for the third consecutive season, following first team honors in 2010 and second-team honors in 2011.

“The women beat some teams they were ranked behind coming into today’s meet, so we’re very happy about the women’s finish,” director of track and field and cross country Willie Randolph. “We’re a very young team and this is a very positive result moving into the regional meet.”
Junior Shelby Thren finished 22nd in 22:19.4. Senior Maddie Ribant crossed 31st in 22:29.1, followed shortly thereafter by freshman Kelly Schubert in 22:32.2 for 34th place and senior Veronica Garcia in 35th in 22:33.0 to round out the scoring lineup.
Redshirt freshman Alyssa Dyer finished 40th in 22:37.2.
