WEDNESDAY, AUG. 8

Representing the United States in the 800-meter run, Geena Gall (2006-09) placed fourth in heat four of the opening round with a 2:03.85 clocking and advanced to the semifinals on time. She finished one place shy of the automatic qualifying spots, but with the sixth fastest time among non-automatic qualifiers she grabbed the last spot in the semifinals, which are scheduled for Thursday (Aug. 9) at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Later in the day, Canadian representative Nicole (Edwards) Sifuentes (2005-08) finished 11th in the second heat of the 1,500-meter run semifinals in a time of 3:06.33 on Wednesday (Aug. 8) at Olympic Stadium. She did not qualify for the finals.

TUESDAY, AUG. 7

Tiffany (Ofili) Porter of Great Britain finished fourth in heat two of the 100-meter hurdles semifinals on Tuesday (Aug. 7) at Olympic Stadium. Her time of 12.79 was just .08 seconds shy of qualifying for the final.

MONDAY, AUG. 6

Tiffany (Ofili) Porter (2006-09) of Great Britain finished third in heat one of the opening round of the 100-meter hurdles at Olympic Stadium to clinch the final qualifying spot for tomorrow's (Aug. 7) semifinal round at 2:15 p.m. EDT. Porter established a quick lead out of the blocks and was able to hold on to third place in a time of 12.79. Canada's Nicole (Edwards) Sifuentes (2005-08) competed in round one of the 1,500-meter run, finishing seventh in heat three with a time of 4:07.65, to qualify for the semifinals. She was sitting in 11th place at the start of the bell lap and made a strong kick in the final 200 meters to move into seventh. Sifuentes was just one spot shy of automatically qualifying but recorded one of the next six fastest times to advance to Wednesday's (Aug. 8) semifinals at 2:45 p.m. EDT.

SATURDAY, AUG. 4

Nigerian heptathlete Uhunoma Osazuwa, a third-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Michigan, competed in the long jump on Saturday (Aug. 4) at Olympic Stadium before dropping out of the heptathlon due to injury. She recorded a jump of 5.74 meters to finish 15th in Group B and score 771 points. Osazuwa did not compete in the javelin or 800-meter run, finishing the heptathlon with a total of 4,402 points through five events.

FRIDAY, AUG. 3

Nigerian Uhunoma Osazuwa, a third-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Michigan, is sitting in 24th place with 3,631 after the first day of competition in the heptathlon on Friday (Aug. 3) at Olympic Stadium. Her best event proved to be the 100-meter hurdles, where she finished seventh in heat five and 14th overall in a time of 13.46 to record 1,056 points. Competition for the final three events will resume tomorrow (Friday, Aug. 3) at 5:05 a.m. EDT with the long jump, followed by the javelin at 6:40 a.m. EDT and the 800-meter run at 3:35 p.m. EDT.
