National Track & Field Hall of Famer Mary Slaney will introduce a special screening of “Starting at the Finish Line: the Coach Buehler Story,” which will be show at 5 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, June 27) at South Eugene High School.

Hosted by the USATF Alumni Association, the screening precedes the first USATF Legends of the Past Celebrity Basketball Game, which will follow at 7 p.m.

The only athlete ever to hold every American record from 800 meters to 10,000 meters, Slaney continues to own the U.S. women's records in the 1500 (3:57.12), mile (4:16.71) and 3000 (8:25.83). Her greatest international achievement came at the 1983 World Championships in Helsinki, where she won the 1500 and 3000 meters.

Longtime Duke Coach Al Buehler has touched and enriched the lives of thousands of athletes including Olympians Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Carl Lewis. For more information on the film, visit www.coachbuehler.com
