U of M - Former National Champions Gall, Porter London Bound

EUGENE, Ore. -- Former University of Michigan women's track national champions Geena Gall (2006-09) and Tiffany (Ofili) Porter secured roster spots with their respective teams for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Gall finished second in the 800-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1:59.24. Porter secured her spot on the Great Britain roster, finishing second in the 100-meter hurdles (13.21) at the Aviva Trials. It will mark the first Olympic Games for both Gall and Porter.
Two other former Wolverines will compete during the remaining four days of the U.S. Olympic Trials. Anna (Willard) Pierce (2007) will run the 1,500-meter race, starting with the qualifying round on Thursday (June 28) at 3:50 p.m. PDT, followed by the semifinals on Friday (June 29) and finals on Saturday (June 30). Bettie Wade (2006-09) will compete in the heptathlon on Friday and Saturday (June 29-30).
