MSU - Rohl and Franklin to compete at the Olympic Trials

EAST LANSING, MICH. - Redshirt junior Beth Rohl (New Buffalo, Mich. / New Buffalo) and true freshman Tori Franklin (Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove South) will be making the trip to Track Town USA to compete in the 2012 Olympic Trials at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
Rohl will be competing in the Women's Discus after placing fourth at the NCAA Championships on a personal best throw of 56.85 meters (186-6). Rohl needed a throw of at least 56 meters to meet the provisional "B" standard.
Rohl has had an exceptional 2012 campaign; earning bronze medals in Hammer Throw as well as the Discus at the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships. She has also earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-American Honors for the outdoor and indoor seasons.
She is scheduled to compete tomorrow, June 22nd at 2:20pm (PT) in the qualifying round. Finals are scheduled for Sunday, June 24th at 3:05pm.
Tori Franklin will compete in Women's Triple Jump, with qualifying round competition scheduled for Saturday at 3:20pm. Finals will take place on Monday, June 25th at 5:45pm.
Franklin earned two USTFCCCA All-American honors in 2012 and nabbed her best mark of the outdoor season at 13.00 meters (42-8) at the NCAA Championships. As only a true freshman, she broke the school's indoor record in the Triple Jump, leaping 13.34m (43-9 1/4) which gave her the provisional "B" standard.
Franklin earned a bronze medal with a distance of 42-04 ¼ at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships and a silver medal at the Big Ten Indoor Championships at 12.84m (42-01 ½).
