YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The 2012 Horizon League Track and Field Indoor Championships began at the beautiful new Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) facility located on the campus of Youngstown State on Saturday as a number of Titan individuals qualified for final races to be staged on the second day.
 
Sequoyia Calhoun and Jasmine Greene both qualified for the 400m finals as Calhoun timed in at 56.71 and Greene set a new PR at 59.09. Nikia Duncan (7.98) and Nicole Meisner (7.99) also both qualified for the 60m finals. Brandee Hart qualified for the 60m hurdles with a clock of 8.98. Calhoun and Hart will also be in the finals of the 200m race on the second day of competition.
 
The women stand in a tie for seventh place after collecting three points on the opening day.
 
The Distance Medley Relay team of Sarah Martinez, Greene, Smid and Katrina Oberski placed 6th at 12:38.17 for one of three Titan points on the day.
 
In the pentathlon, Amanda Campbell ran a 10.14 in the 60m hurdles while Hana Hunt timed in at 10.90. Campbell stood fifth place overall after three events with 1,724 points and Hunt was eighth with 1,629 points.
 
In the 800m, Sarah Martinez ran her second fastest time at 2:19.97 and Olivia Smid set a new PR with a time of 2:24.27.
 
The second day of competition will take place on Sunday with LIVE RESULTS available and a live free online stream provided by HLN that will start at 1:00 p.m.
