January 28, 2012 – Another week, another record for junior Amanda Putt.

Having broken the school record for the indoor mile run in each of her past two outings, Putt made it three for three at the Indiana Relays Saturday in Bloomington. She finished third in the mile run with a new school-record time of 4:46.43. That improved on her Division II provisional qualifying time registered the week before in Findlay.

Junior Kayla Caldwell also enjoyed a second straight productive day both in track and field events for the Chargers. She tied for first overall in the pole vault by clearing 3.80 meters. She then took third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.01 seconds.

Other top-10 finishers at the huge Division I and II combined meet for Hillsdale included Kathy Dirksen in the weight throw (second, 18.01 meters), and the distance medley relay team of Amy Kerst, Elise Byron, Jennifer Shaffer and Putt (fourth place).

The team now faces another two-day meet next weekend, heading to Findlay for the D-II Challenge Friday and Saturday.
