Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart boys cross country takes second at Division 4 state meet

BROOKLYN — Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart finished runner-up at the Division 4 state meet Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. The Irish finished with 99 points, while champion Concord had 64 points. Seniors Casey Voisin (sixth) and Ben Schilling (10th) earned all-state honors for the Irish.
Joey Southgate (13th) also earned all-state honors for Unionville-Sebewaing, which finished in seventh as a team. Hayden Ewald (39th), Ben Southgate (81st) and Tyler Harris (85th) also finished in the top 100 for USA.
Michigan Lutheran Seminary had top runners in the top 100 as juniors Darian Schnose placed 52nd at 17:19.9 and Aaron Pretzer crossed the line in 96th with a time of 17:57.0.
Nate Partee (32nd) crossed in 16:58.1 and Jesse Corbat (41st) finished in 17:13.3 to help lead Breckenridge to a ninth place finish. Kurt Gulick (17:20.9), Kyle Gulick (18:14.3) and Zach Reiber (18:27.3) rounded out the top five for the Huskies.
